Katy was super chilled, Alan was even more chilled (how on earth he managed to hold it together when little joshua was walking down the aisle with maid of honour Amy i don’t know - i was in bits) and of course the wonderful Joshua - who after the wedding I am told his body composition is now 65% cake!
This venue is a photographers dream, beautiful house and absolutely stunning gardens - I couldn’t wait to shoot here. It is simply stunning from the moment you drive up the fern lined driveway to the moment you step into the gardens you are presented with absolute beauty - the gorgeous pond/lake (when does a pond become a lake?!?) with the backdrop of the rolling hills.
The wedding was awesome as well - the weather got the memo and although it threatened to spoil the wedding party my trusty anti rain glares meant the rain clouds gave us a wide birth!.

There was some gorgeous photos at this wedding and some fantastic documentary opportunities as well - especially with the kids - who were all bonkers mad and bloody brilliant at the same time. The evening golden hour photos gave us some fantastic opportunities - delighted how those photos came out - and especially pleased with the lightpainting photo right at the end!
*FUN FACT TIME - What you can’t see is little joshua on an ipad watching Paw Patrol behind the bush whilst mum and dad posed for the photo - I would have included him but trying to keep him still for 30 seconds was probably a wedding bridge too far.
So all in all epic day, fantastic family, lovely weather and gorgeous venue means Matt is one happy camper!

“The wonderful Lisa and Simon walking through the fields literally over the road from the Crown Lodge wedding venue. It’s a beautiful venue tucked away in woodland with the most epic views you will ever see right on it’s doorstep”

The day started off at Lisa’s parents house, a beautiful house with a spacious kitchen which was perfect for bridal prep photos. Also kudos to Lisa’s Mum and Dad for the yellowest wall I have ever seen - made a fantastic backdrop for some of the hair and makeup photos.
With George running about in the garden and playing football with his Swedish cousins I had to switch between fashion and sports in a flash.
Lisa and Simon wanted a relaxed wedding day. Nothing too stressful. They wanted nice, relaxed, documentary wedding imagery of their guests simply enjoying themselves and having fun. They really achieved that with this wedding - no formal sit down meal and gather round speeches all really helped create that wonderful atmosphere. It really shows when a couple are relaxed in their photos. Even the registrar commented she can’t quite remember a couple smiling so much.
So thank you again for letting me be a part of your wonderful day Lisa and Simon, George I’m still trying to find the dinosaur in my camera!!

Rochester castle wedding photographer
“I am also really proud of the light-painting photo I managed to achieve for these guys, with my friendly helper (young lad from the wedding helping me light up the trees) we managed these photos in one go - light-painting combined with sparkler and a steady hand from yours truly!”
I LOVED SHOOTING THIS WEDDING!
When i met Luke and Taylor last year, they knew exactly what they had in mind for their wedding - with the guidance of Taylors mum they had everything planned and their vision was clear - they wanted to OWN Rochester - and i think they did.
For the couple photos we went up to Rochester Castle, where we photographed some more intimate photos of the two of them. Then we went up and down the high street to see what photo opportunities we had to get some unique images - I LOVED doing this. Honestly loved it. Luke and Taylor were up for anything i suggested and some of those photos up and down the high street maybe my favourite for the year.
Sometimes you get a couple who can truly portray real love by what they do, how they act, how they smile and how they are together - you don’t need to be a photographer to see that flooding through in these images -from couple photos all the way up to the first dance.

Thank you guys - truly thank you - it was an absolute pleasure

Taylor says:
“What can I say other than that Matt was brilliant! From the moment I saw his previous work I knew he would be the best photographer for our day and he went above and beyond my expectations. He made me and my husband feel at ease right from the moment we met him, was incredibly prompt with responses and clear too. He worked well with my mother (an ex-photographer) and was an amazing presence on the day. Matt is very patient and easy going and very skilled at his job. Our wedding photos are beautiful, honestly he captured the day in the most perfect way. I cannot recommend him enough! 12/10”
